AMX MUSE Automation Controllers are built in partnership with HARMAN’s ultra-secure Linux platform, surpassing even the most rigid of security requirements. MUSE automation controllers are so secure they can even be used in government installations, support financial applications, and more. That’s not where the partnership with HARMAN ends, though. AMX MUSE controllers feature native support for HARMAN’s HControl (open-API). HARMAN’s legacy HiQnet audio devices and AMX’s legacy control devices, ICSP, are also natively supported by the AMX MUSE.

This is all supported within a carefully engineered ultra-secure environment powered by a modern embedded processor and industrial-grade onboard eMMC storage solution. The robust eMMC storage is designed to last for decades, ensuring your AMX MUSE automation controller is as reliable as you are. The industrial-grade storage keeps your environment running and secure when you need it most. Each MUSE automation controller is operational in temperatures ranging from 0° C to 50° C (32° F to 122° F), but the industrial storage system can maintain its integrity in temperatures as low as -10° C (14° F) and as high as 60° C (140° F). 

The MUSE Automation controller is a considerable upgrade to AMX’s previously released NX controller, offering a processor speed that is 10x faster than its predecessor. The MUSE is a versatile powerhouse that can handle running a near-unlimited number of scripts simultaneously in your favorite programming languages. From Python to JavaScript, to Groovy, the MUSE automation controller has it covered.

That kind of ultra-secure power can sound daunting to beginner developers or IT professionals who have less experienced team members. Not every member of an IT or Engineering team can be a professional programmer, but the AMX MUSE automated controller makes programming easy with the Node-RED development tool. Node-RED gives your team the power to program with a visual, flow-based process with little to no coding required to program your controller. Node-RED support for AMX Muse controllers is built right into the system, no special workarounds are necessary.

AMX’s MUSE family of products consists of four automation controllers to choose from, designed to suit a multitude of operations and needs. The MU-1000 automation controller weighs in at just 1.25 pounds. It offers a front-facing USB-C program port along with a rear-facing LAN Port with PoE, ICSLan Port, and 2 USB-A Host Ports. The MU-1300 automation controller is slightly larger at 1.575 pounds but features a front-facing USB-C program port as well as a USB-A host port.  It includes 1 12V DC input, 1 LAN port, 1 RS-232/422/485, 1 RS-232, 4 I/O, 2 IR, and 2 USB-A host ports on its rear panel.

The MU-2300 automation controller is a bit chunkier, weighing in at 6 pounds and featuring a USB-C Program port and USB-A host port in the front. A 12V DC input, 1 LAN Port, 1ICSLan Port, RS-232/422/485, 3 RS-232, 4 I/O, 4 IR, 4 Relays, and 2 USB-A Host ports are located on its rear panel. The largest automation controller, the MU-3300, also comes in at 6 pounds and includes a USB-C program port and USB-A host port on the front panel. On the rear panel, it features 1 12V DC input, 1 LAN Port, 1 ICSLan Port, 2 RS-232/422/485, 6 RS-232, 8 I/O, 8 IR, 8 Relays, and 2 USB-A Host Ports.
