Disney has released a new trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet, its sequel to 2012’s Wreck-It Ralph. (It seems to have streamlined its awkward original title by dropping “Wreck-It Ralph 2.”) Earlier clips gave us a feel for the conceit and jokes of the new film, but the newest one reveals a bit more about its emotional core.
From the first couple of trailers, we learned that the new film seems to be updating the same quirky, meta approach that the original took to video games for its very online audience. In the new trailer — set to Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” because it’s the internet, get it? — we learn why the characters are venturing beyond their arcade.
