There’s still a ways to go before the online-focused Fallout 76 launches, but Bethesda has provided a tiny taste of the post-apocalyptic world with a new introductory video. The trailer — which, presumably, will also be the clip that plays before you start the game — sets up the timeline for Fallout 76, which takes place much earlier than previous titles in the series.
It’s set in West Virginia just 25 years after nuclear war devastated the planet, which means that many Fallout staples — like roaming gangs of raiders — won’t be present. “While players ultimately will experience unique adventures, stories, and exciting moments along their Fallout 76 journey, they’ll all begin the same: within the safe confines of Vault 76 on Reclamation…
